NexenServes Is Our Way of Enriching Lives
We want to start with a bible verse from Leviticus 25:4…
“But in the seventh year the land is to have a year of sabbath rest, a sabbath to the Lord. Do not sow your fields or prune your vineyards.”
This is the inspiration and guidance for the NexenServes initiative and we simply apply this to our team. This means a sabbatical year for leadership and all of our team members where their efforts are shifted away from productivity and work, but is instead focused on family, personal growth, and reconnecting with what really matters in this life—serving ourselves, the ones we love, and the communities we are a part of. We hand over all of our incoming projects to our partners, Builder’s Best, and instead, take part in a really fun new routine for an entire year! Forget the five-day work week. During any active NexenServes year you can find staff enjoying things and events like a BBQ huddle every Monday, volunteering and community projects on Tuesday & Wednesday, supporting Habitat for Humanity on Thursday, and then a full day for family time on Friday! It really is a dream routine—and it’s the routine we know will reignite our team and our community.
We have partnered with Builder’s Best to complete projects on the docket for us while we are away. Their passion and dedication to our efforts is a partnership we are truly grateful for and we are blessed to have them as a partner in our initiative.

We always appreciate opportunities to serve the community and we always make sure it is part of any NexenServes year, but our top priority is to enrich and empower those on our team—effectively shifting the dynamic of corporate work culture and hopefully spreading that to more organizations in the future.
This is not a one and done initiative. For new employees and team members who were not a part of our first NexenServes year will be eligible for a sabbatical year on their 7th year of employment. NexenServes will forever be a part of our work and work environment.
